We went to observe the Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander (NHPI) Commuity as they talked to the Mayor of Carson as well as the Commissioners about the needs of the NHPI Community. It was great to see all the different presenters from each commuity organization and hear what they are doing to empower the NHPI community. It's amazing how our communtiy works togeher in order to help out each other. It's a virtue that most communities don't have and we are blessed to be able to be part of it. The interns had the honor of being introduced to the Board members and it was an honor to be recognized as part of the group that is helping in this movement. I am excited to see what will happen in the next couple of years. I hope that the Commissioners can help bring our vision to the a higher level.
I'm glad you had an opportunity to attend. There is work to be done in each of our communities. We also have to work together with the larger advocacy groups as well to get things done in partnership.
